I’m Eleanor, a Yorkshire-born, London-based journalist, stylist and creative consultant who writes for online publications including House & Garden, Cabana Magazine and British Vogue.

Why Substack?

I’m also known as @aconsideredspace on Instagram, where I’ve been steadily building a community of design lovers since 2017. Through Instagram, I’ve found rel-life friendships and work opportunities but it has changed a lot in recent years. I used to love sharing my thoughts and curations on Instagram Stories but as it became more difficult to reach people and my captions were always far too long, I knew it was time to try something new. I’m still on Instagram but my research-heavy and long-form content is now reserved exclusively for my readers on Substack!

If you subscribe to my newsletter, you’ll receive every new post by email, so we’re not at the mercy of an algorithm and I love the certainty of that.

What do I write about?

You can expect to find my advice and recommendations on hotels, interiors and personal style, safe in the knowledge that I’m obsessive about timeless design and attention to detail and I have no interest in short-lived fads.

I love a classic personal essay (there’s nothing like a bit of quality time with a keyboard to clear your mind), so I also use Substack to talk about relatable topics such as work, lifestyle and mental health. It’s a real buffet-at-a-wedding situation in terms of variety.

I share a curated edit or piece of writing between two and four times a month, so I won’t bombard you with emails if you decide to join me. I’d love you to subscribe and (if you feel like it) get involved in the comments sections.

How do subscriptions work?

For the moment, roughly half of my Substack content is free to read and the most research-heavy or vulnerable pieces will be especially for paid subscribers.

Anyone is welcome to subscribe for free but a paid subscription at £5 a month (or £50 a year) gives you access to everything, plus the comment sections and my occasional giveaways. I save all of my best shopping finds, subjective opinions and most personal writing for Substack and I couldn’t do that without your support, so thank you!
