The Shopping List
16 picks including a great winter coat, the perfect shower curtain, something I'm watching on eBay and a stylist's Cotswolds bolthole
These short shoppable round-ups are a carefully concocted cocktail of things that I’ve seen and loved over the week, spanning the categories of interiors, fashion, travel and sometimes food.
The first half of the list is free and the whole edit is available exclusively to paid subscribers. I spend a lot of time hunched over my laptop in a position that my physio definitely wouldn’t recommend, so please do consider upgrading to support my work and get access to everything!
I will occasionally use affiliate links, which means I will receive a tiny commission from the retailer if you choose to buy something.
I bought this ticking stripe shower curtain from Toast (it’s the same as their best-selling ticking bedding) and honestly, it transformed my bathroom. I’ve had mine for several months now and the key to mildew-free longevity is to buy an additional plastic liner curtain (I get them from Amazon for £5). It’s £65.
New independent jewellery brand Ferrat is one I’ll be watching closely for their playful, well-priced, well-made designs. These puffy heart earrings are made from sterling silver and coated in gold vermeil (thicker than gold plating) and yet they’re only £78?! Race you to the checkout…
I think Living Quarters makes the most beautiful botanical wallpapers and if – like me – you’re not mad on florals, this pelargonium wallpaper might be up your street. I want to see an attic bedroom smothered in this, ceiling and all. If you don’t have the budget for a whole bedroom, use it for a downstairs loo instead. It’s £150 a roll.
Did I want this Floyd cabin suitcase solely because of the glossy green colour and very cool red skateboard-style wheels? Yep, you got me, but I don’t think that’s a crime. The icy blue and chocolate brown options are equally as delectable. It’s £395 from Matches.
I bought a couple of these washed linen cushion covers from H&M Home for a shoot earlier in the year and the thick weight of the fabric combined with the pillow edge makes them look more expensive than they are. They come in about 14 different colours or something ridiculous like that and they’re only £9.99 each. Always buy cushion pads 5cm bigger than the cover for a plump look.
I’m on the hunt for versatile and warm winter clothes that will go with everything and this Harris Tweed trench-style coat from Weekend by Max Mara has already piqued my interest. Is a dedicated edit of winter coats something you’d be interested in? This is £880.
Would I buy this glossy tulip task lamp for myself? Probably not in all honesty but would I buy it for my kid’s desk or shelves (if I had a kid)? Definitely! It would be so fun for a child’s bedroom and the clip-on design makes it especially useful. It’s £69 from Urban Outfitters.
I’m a sucker for African indigo cloth and Jennifer Shorto has an excellent selection of printed fabrics inspired by traditional West African cloth, which is handy when you need to buy a specific quantity. I love the Tagba Lagoon voile for blinds or the Lake Taabo for statement curtains.
