37 rugs on my wishlist right now...

If you can, I’d love you to support my work by upgrading to a paid subscription for as little as 97p a week, then you get full access to everything. It’s uncomfortable to talk about money and I know there’s a lot of choice on Substack, but every paid subscription genuinely makes a difference and means I can spend more time writing and curating here. Thank you!
A truly great rug might leave a dent in your bank balance but - like a good sofa – the right style is worth saving for.
Dress your floor well and I promise, it will transform the whole room. You wouldn’t buy a new outfit for a party without considering your shoes because you know they could make it or break it. An area rug should be treated the same way. Choose wisely and it will pull a decorative scheme together – making everything look cohesive and comfortable (let’s face it, friends don’t let friends have living rooms that echo).
I bloody LOVE a rug. I don’t have many vices but rugs and lamps, so help me God, I can’t get enough of either. I’m constantly adding new ones to my wishlist, despite only having two rooms in my entire flat and about 57p to my name. In fact, I’m half-seriously shopping for two rugs at the mo.
I’ve written several detailed rug-buying guides for magazines in the past so I won’t add to the pile (no pun intended), but I will share three key pieces of advice…
